Driven by the growth of smart grids, decentralized generation and real time energy management, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is becoming an important tool for forecasting demands, optimizing pricing and automating system operations. New regulatory challenges are arising in particularly in relation with data protection and individual rights.
With the aim of supporting National Regulatory Authorities (NRAs) in facing such challenges, this mini-training is divided in
two parts.
In the first part of the course, we will try to emphasize a
theoretical overview regarding GDPR and EU AI Act referring the interaction and
following impact between GDPR and the EU AI act.
In the second part of the mini training on GDPR we will be focus on best practices and data governance to follow GDPR compliance. Participants will explore the future steps of AI in the energy sector looking on NRAs opportunities and challenges regarding transparency, fairness and accountability being all under the scope of the GDPR.
